The Governing Committee of the Car Insurers Bureau of Massachusetts (AIB) has appointed William H. Scully as President of the AIB efficient January 13, 2025. Mr. Scully has served as Interim President succeeding Kim A. Barber who retired in April, 2024.
AIB has operated in Massachusetts since 1925 offering actuarial experience and a broad array of merchandise and assist for the auto insurance coverage trade within the state. Its members embody over 100 insurers writing private and business auto insurance coverage in Massachusetts.
Mr. Scully has been with the AIB since August 2000 serving as Interim President since Could 1, 2024 and Vice President, Chief Actuary since 2020. Previous to this, he served as an actuary for 2 nationwide insurance coverage firms. Mr. Scully has been accountable for all facets of auto insurance coverage ratemaking and actuarial companies for AIB. He offered skilled testimony in the course of the “fix-and set up” interval for private auto and manages the AIB advisory price, rule, and kinds packages for each private and business auto. Since managed competitors was adopted for private auto, he has developed new actuarial stories and analyses to assist AIB member firms and manages the AIB Car Ranking Group program.
Mr. Scully, a graduate of College of Massachusetts in Amherst with a level in engineering, has a Grasp of Science Diploma in actuarial science from Temple College in Philadelphia and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He’s a resident of Boston.
